Nordland County Municipality has initiated a new trainee program in collaboration with KPB and KPH.

This project aims to integrate highly educated people into the regional job market by offering them valuable work experience through a tailored trainee program.

About the project

The job market in Nordland faces a significant skills shortage, and companies are struggling to recruit qualified personnel. At the same time, many highly educated refugees are unemployed despite their valuable expertise. This trainee program offers companies a unique opportunity to:

  • Access highly qualified candidates who can contribute to the growth of their business.

  • Enhance the company's diversity and innovation through new perspectives and ideas.

  • Be part of an important societal mission that promotes integration and social sustainability in the region.

By participating in this project, your company can not only fill critical positions but also contribute to positive societal development.

What You Get as a Trainee

As a trainee in our program, you will have a unique opportunity to combine practical experience with professional development, while also building a valuable network in the business community. Here are some of the benefits and requirements for you as a trainee:

  • 1-year paid employment: You will work full-time for one year in a company relevant to your educational background, where you will gain practical experience and develop skills directly related to your field.

  • Language course tailored to the workplace: We offer an individually tailored language course in the afternoons. The course is designed to improve your language skills in a professional context, with a focus on your industry and the needs of the workplace.

  • Four annual gatherings: You will participate in gatherings focused on Norwegian work culture. These gatherings provide insight into what it’s like to work in Norway and offer a chance to exchange experiences with other trainees.

  • Social activities and networking: Throughout the program, we organize social activities designed to help you build a professional network with both other trainees and professionals from the business community.

  • Follow-up from the project manager: During your entire trainee period, you will receive support from the project manager at Kunnskapsparken Bodø, who will act as a mentor and guide throughout the process.

  • Education and language requirements: We are looking for candidates with higher education, who can communicate effectively in either Norwegian or English.

We accept trainees on a rolling basis, so send your application today to project manager Pål Viggo Mortensen at pvm@kpb.no. Please note that spots fill up quickly, so we encourage you to apply as soon as possible!
